Talk to Leads More. Do a Better Job. Crush the Competition.
You can Improve Every Metric in Your Business With one Change
One of the biggest lessons I ever learned was to talk to people more, talk to them like people, and to do a better job. Everyone in marketing talks like a guru. It is very annoying. I actually stopped using LinkedIn because of it.
If you want to convert more leads, build stronger relationships, lower churn, increase average purchase sizes, and get referrals - do these things.
Stop Trying to Sound Smart
If people hear you talk or read an email and go "wow that sounded interesting but I did not understand what to do" you suck at communication.
People lose good clients all the time because they feel stupid talking to you. Your clients should love talking to you because every time they leave the conversation they get something out of it, not feel dumb.
What does this person need?
What does this person fear?
How can I be as helpful as possible?
Give Them Things They Want
If you constantly provide value and improve their situation, they will trust your advice. Yesterday, I sold lead callers to 8 clients, in a row, without a single person objecting. Not even a pricing objection.
But only because I had worked with them for over a month each, and they had all made progress using my strategies, and wanted to move to the next step.
If you constantly provide value and it works, when you give a recommendation people trust you. Reputation is earned, so earn it.
Never Say Something You Can't Back up.
If you lie, even once, and a customer finds out, they will never trust you again.
So don't.
Not in marketing, not in sales, not in meetings. Never.
